When I first moved to Colorado, I quickly learned about Moab and it’s outdoor attractions. Located 15 minutes from two national parks and home to fun desert activities such as dirt biking, motor biking, ATVs, sand boarding,
\nand more. Moab is surrounded by red rock formations and located right on the Colorado river. As you can see, Moab is an adventurer’s paradise. This was going to be the last stop before I made my way back to Denver.

Town Guide

Moab is a small but eccentric little town. I was tired of camping at this point and was told about an awesome hostel, the Lazy Lizard. I 100% recommend staying this place. It was very cheap and was worth a lot more in my opinion. Here I met a young kid named Brian who was looking for a ride to Denver. I told him my schedule and he decided to be my partner for next two days.

Places to grub: I was able to check out a few spots in the couple days I was there. These are the places I enjoyed.

Overall, I really enjoyed Moab as a town and really think any outdoor person should go spend some serious time here.

Arches National Park

A completely unique park of America, which is famous for the red-rock arches and weird sand scultures.

Favorite Viewpoints

Devils Garden
\n

Devils Garden is the main trail in arches coming in at 6.8 miles for the entire loop. Pretty much an entire day hike which my travel mate and I did. The path is mostly walking through sand and scaling a couple rock ledges. We were actually shocked at some of the obstacles we had to overcome while hiking this trail.

This trail alone provides views for 7 different arches and 1 rock formation.

Canyonlands National Park

\n

The other national park located by Moab is Canyonlands National Park. I will be honest, by this time I have seen more than enough canyons in the past week, so we didn’t spend a whole lot of time here. The park is divided into four districts due to being carved out by the Colorado River and its tributaries. These districts are Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. Coming from Moab, we went into the Island in the Sky District.
