I travel now with carry-on luggage only, all over the world and it&#8217;s a great decision. I will admit, I usually am chasing summer which does make packing light a bit easier. This post will go into detail about the bags I use and what goes inside of them.</p>\n<p><em>Please note: this is my personal list. Obviously, this will vary from person to person, but this is a question I am asked frequently.</em></p>\n<h3>The backpacks</h3>\n<p> After doing a day worth of research online that included reading Reddit threads and every travel blogger that exists posts till my eyes bled, I finally made my decision on <a href=\"http://www.tortugabackpacks.com/\">Tortuga Travel</a> backpacks. When I made my decision, version three just came out which dropped the price of version two to more affordable price. </p>\n<p>For my <strong>main bag</strong>, I bought the <a href=\"https://www.amazon.com/Tortuga-Travel-Backpack-Carry-Sized/dp/B005BU2XNG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1485880899&#038;sr=8-2&#038;keywords=Tortuga\">Tortuga 44 Liter travel backpack</a>, which is the perfect carry-on size.</p>\n<p>The <strong>day pack</strong>, I went with <a href=\"https://www.amazon.com/Tortuga-Travel-Daypack-Lightweight-Sightseeing/dp/B01AV9OI2A/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1485881052&#038;sr=8-10&#038;keywords=Tortuga\">Tortuga 20l Daypack</a>, that is packable, which means it folds into itself! </p>\n<h3>What&#8217;s in the bag?</h3>\n<p>As you can see, I don&#8217;t have a ton of room to pack for my trips, so we only want to pack the essentials. I can&#8217;t stress how important it is, and easy, to pack light. I even leave room for souvenirs to bring home!</p>\n<h5>Clothes</h5>\n<ul>\n<li>7 pairs of crew black socks</li>\n<li>7 pairs of boxer briefs</li>\n<li>4 t-shirts</li>\n<li>1 bathing suit</li>\n<li>1 pair of jeans</li>\n<li>1 pair of shorts</li>\n<li>1 baseball cap</li>\n<li>2 tank tops</li>\n<li>1 Windbreaker</li>\n<li>1 hoody/sweater</li>\n<li>1 long sleeve (flannel)</li>\n<li>1 dress shirt</li>\n<li>1 pair of all black tennis shoes &#8211; all black so I can use them as &#8220;formal shoes&#8221; for going out</li>\n<li>1 pair of flip flops</li>\n<li>1 microfiber towel</li>\n<li>1 pair of cheap sunglasses</li>\n</ul>\n<h5>Toiletry Kit/Medicine Kit</h5>\n<ul>\n<li>1 toothbrush</li>\n<li>3 pairs of spare contact lenses (sucks being blind)</li>\n<li>1 chapstick</li>\n<li>1 bottle of prescription antibiotics</li>\n<li>1 small bottle of shower gel</li>\n<li>1 small tube of toothpaste</li>\n<li>1 pair of foam earplugs</li>\n<li>1 sleeping mask (usually take from the flight)</li>\n<li>1 travel size deodorant</li>\n<li>1 box band aids</li>\n<li>1 bottle of hand sanitizer</li>\n<li>1 pack of Imodium</li>\n</ul>\n<h5>Gear</h5>\n<ul>\n<li>1 iPhone 6(at the time of this post)</li>\n<li>1 15&#8243; Macbook Pro early 2016</li>\n<li>1 rechargeable battery</li>\n<li>1 universal power adapter</li>\n<li>1 encrypted thumbdrive with my personal documents\n<ul>\n<li>scan of passport</li>\n<li>scan of vaccination papers</li>\n<li>scan of birth certificate</li>\n<li>travel itenary</li>\n<li>copy of plane tickets</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<h5>Miscellaneous</h5>\n<ul>\n<li>2-3 different size combination locks</li>\n<li>10 zip lock baggies</li>\n<li>1 couple yards long rope</li>\n<li>2-3 plastic grocery bags</li>\n<li>1 book</li>\n<li>1 Nalgene canteen</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Packing Tips</h2>\n<p>I start by separating my clothes and rolling what I can to fit into zip-lock baggies. So all of my boxers, socks, and t-shirts, are rolled into a zip lock bags. You can find packing cubes online that are the same concept as what I do.</p>\n<p>Remember, you can buy everything on the road.
